THE SAFE ENDED UP BEING SO HEAVY AND DIFFICULT TO MOVE THAT WE DITCHED IT ON SOME BACK STREET IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AFTER NO SCRAPYARD WOULD TAKE IT OFF OUR HANDS, IT TOOK THREE PEOPLE TO GET THE DOOR UP THE STAIRS TO MY APARTME

Klone

2022, brass

When I acquired a pre Civil War era safe from a dealer upstate I was worried if I ever lost the key I would be hard pressed to find another. All the locksmiths I contacted had distant relatives that were familiar with these old mechanisms but they had long since fallen into antiquity. Using my knowledge of non-ferrous metalworking I was able to successfully clone the key and produce a copy that works to open and close the safe door.
